Is It Ok to Love the Gov. of TX?

Tuesday, May 01, 2007

From alphecca (and you'll get the joke if you know the blog) we find out that the Gov. of TX wants everyone with a CCW to be able to carry anywhere.
“Let me cover it right here,” Perry said. “I think a person ought to be able to carry their weapons with them anywhere in this state if they are licensed and they have gone through the training. The idea that you’re going to exempt them from a particular place is nonsense to me.”
Whoo, hee! I get tired of people from TX trotting out that 'tude sometimes, but you gotta wonder if it's not actually a better place than most.

Alphie also does some math: 0.25% of TX residents with a CCW have lost their right to carry - presumably over the multi year life of the program. That is an amazing testament to the law abiding character of CCW holders everywhere. For comparison, 5% of TX is apparently incarcerated at any given point.....
