Safe in the Parking Garage?

Well, sometimes I guess. I drive a beater to the airport (cab service bites where I live) and park in the deck instead of the long term lot (it's against policy, but sue me) to increase security for my car.

It's not that I keep diamonds in the trunk, but I do have a GPS and all that krep so it would be nice to do something better than just putting it in the rear seat well and throwing a blanket over it. Ok, a Taco Bell bag, but same idea.

This $200 gizmo from AutoSafe in the UK (yes, yes, all the good stuff is over there. But they have Prince Charles, Posh, and Madge too, so it's kind of a wash, really.) secures into your car and takes Oceans 11 *and* 12 to open it.

Very neat, and very expensible as "parking" - technically.

Find The Boots

An executive goes on a business trip. When he arrives, it's raining cats and dogs. To avoid ruining his shoes, he purchases a pair of galoshes for $15, which he expenses under "Misc." on his expense report. A week later, the accounting department rejects his expense report, with a post-it note that says that the company does not reimburse for items of clothing. The next trip, the executive turns in an expense report without the galoshes, but with a post-it note that says "FIND THE BOOTS!".
