Protected Political Speech

It's funny, but I guess this (hat tip Sondra) is supposed to make me mad, but, really, if I had to choose between cheeky Moslems desecrating the flag and filthy hippies, well, not exactly Hobson's Choice, but close to it.

Some things really strikes me here:
  1. "Islamic Thinkers Society" - best laugh of the day. Really. Like the parking lot of the Amish Space Agency.
  2. Notice how clean the street is? That is one way you can tell they're not in a country run under Muslim ageis. And NYC is not exactly renowned for it's high level of infrastructure maintenance, ifyaknowhatImean.
  3. They have a lot of things they don't like about the US (so do I, but I express 'em differently) but had they those opinions in their own countries the expression would have to be very very private. I doubt they appreciate the irony.
Burn on, my brothers - the men carrying those flags into battle are the guarantee of your freedom to insult them. The cops wearing those flags on their sleeves are there to risk their lives to protect you against someone equally bigoted and more violent.

It's a wonderful thing, really.
